The Safe Haven Initiative aims to create safer communities by reducing gun violence and providing individuals with a secure and non-penalizing way to turn in firearms. Our focus is on fostering a peaceful environment, particularly in schools, by collaborating with local authorities and offering support to those affected by gun violence.
Bright Futures Program (BFP)
Designed to educate and support children aged 8-12 and their families on the dangers of drugs and alcohol. This program aims to build a foundation of knowledge, resilience, and healthy habits that will guide children as they grow.
Rise and Thrive (R.A.T)
Tailored for youth and young adults aged 12-24, along with their families, to address and overcome the challenges related to drug and alcohol use. This program focuses on education, support, and recovery.
“Coming Home: Rebuilding Futures” A Re-Entry Program
"Coming Home: Rebuilding Futures" is a holistic re-entry program designed to support youth returning from juvenile rehabilitation facilities (JRA) and young adults (up to age 24) returning from jail or prison. Our goal is to provide a structured pathway that helps participants successfully reintegrate into their families, schools, workplaces, and communities. This program blends mentorship, life skills training, mental health support, education, job readiness, and community engagement, ensuring every participant receives the tools, guidance, and sense of belonging they need to succeed. (4 Phase Program)
CULTURE(Cultural Understanding, Leadership, Travel, and Unity for Remarkable Experiences)
CULTURE is an enriching summer program offered by IAMU that provides youth with the unique opportunity to travel abroad and immerse themselves in the vibrant cultures of countries like Africa, Haiti, Honduras, the Virgin Islands, Jamaica, and Guatemala. This program is designed to expose participants to diverse cultures, allowing them to experience the richness of family, community, and unity in financially poorer but culturally wealthy regions.
IAMU Juvenile Judicial Program
To provide an alternative to juvenile detention through comprehensive support, community service, and restorative justice programs.
Mental Health and Wellness
Support groups and resources focused on promoting mental well-being, providing counseling, and facilitating open discussions about mental health challenges.
HEAL “Health Education And Advocacy for Life “ Partnership with Lapis Family Medicine
The I.A.M.U Medical Awareness Program HEAL, in partnership with Lapis Family Medicine, is dedicated to empowering youth, families, and communities by providing essential knowledge, access to healthcare, and support for navigating sexual health, sexual assault, and the dangers of sex trafficking. By fostering a safe and supportive environment for education and open communication, this program will contribute to stronger, healthier communities and more informed, empowered youth.
